Funny thing about its fatty acid profile, ALA, the omega 3 fatty acid has a downright poor conversion to the long-chain omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. Whereas most of that omega 6 is linoleic acid which gets converted to arachidonic acid easily. The long-chain HUFAs are the ones that end up eicosanoids. The preferred ratio of long-chain HUFAs is 1:1 and after the conversion, hemp's fatty acid ratio is quite distorted. The result is a lot of inflammation which is bad news for health.

Bottom line: Don't overdo it with the hemp seed. It's only good in small quantities. - Steve

There is much value that we could reap from hemp. If it wasn't for economic manipulation through drug laws, we could have all of these awesome nutrients cheap and plentiful. - Nootropic Review Blog

Hemp is two of the purest, most complete plants on Earth.

Its uses are lots of and varied; of particular value to humans are the nutritional and healing properties of Hemp seed and its oil.

Hemp grows very anywhere and requires no pesticides or fertiliser. The plant is lovely both for the soil and the atmosphere. The potential for Hemp is vast - including sustainable bio-mass (power) and bio-diesel (fuel).

Hemp also makes an excellent source of textile and paper. The fibres are long and very strong, making the most stunning fabric and paper. Lots of of the world's most famous historical works are written on hemp paper. - http://cravinganime.com/

This will never stop - every now and then some household food name become a "bad food" for your health, but it wasnt for the past 10 years or so. This is so weird that some day somebody comes out and says like bread is bad for something, everybody ate it the hole time... or in sports - 10 years ago everybody used a supplement and now its banned... Sry if I incline off the topic, I have heard and read so much about Hemp seeds and their usefulness!

They should ban some other food products then. Cinnamon seeds contain a very small amount of narcotic substance. Why isn´t that banned? People are too afraid fearing others taking advantage of certain products. - Ramon1982

I cant believe its illegal in most places, I havent done any in-depth research yet, but this article and the video provided has convinced me (high-quality job of course). I think this is again one of the weak points of our government system - this should be legalized fast and not take years to understand that it is not Marijuana and it is not for getting high, but very good for your health!

You don't have to worry about getting high off hemp milk, seeds or any other edible hemp products. The levels of THC (the psychoactive substance that gets you high) in hemp foods is extremely low and virtually impossible to get high on. - Administrator
